Behavior Expectations
Our classroom behavior management system is built upon Gold River's guidelines: Be safe, be respectful, be responsible. Visit Gold River's school rules here. To reinforce these rules, we will use the clipchart system. Students are expected to be ready to learn every day and will clip down for behavior that needs redirection. Each day, students will begin at the top: ready to learn. Here are the tiers of the chart:
Ready to Learn
Think About It
Teacher's Choice
Parent Contact
"Think About it" is a visual warning. "Teacher's Choice" is usually a logical consequence for the action (such as finishing work during Fun Friday time). "Parent Contact" means you will get an email or phone call from me.
In addition, group points are given for positive reinforcement as well as individual praise and rewards.
